Develops strategy for and initiates potential business account interest, solicits and negotiates contracts for hotel business for specific assigned markets. Responsible for maximizing revenue for the hotel through direct sales efforts and relationship building with potential clients. Develops ongoing sales goals to achieve Occupancy, ADR and RevPar goals for the hotel.
- ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the establishment of new relationships while maintaining existing relationships with corporate and social accounts while consistently striving to maximize revenue and promote relationships through effective negotiation of services and assist Director in maintaining the daily operation of the Catering Department.* Solicits account leads from group meeting/event planners and decision makers for cultivation and development. Develops sales plan and strategy to meet or exceed room night and other revenue goals.
*. Direct the solicitation efforts of room sales through effective oral and written communication while overseeing rate, date and space commitments for group room sales within the hotel.
*. Manages and negotiates account details and contracts so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Communicates and plans for operations department’s participation in servicing accounts.
*. Represents the hotel with prospective customers to provide necessary information on hotel facilities and services and to determine levels of interest.
*. Submits formal sales proposals and contracts to prospective customers.
*. Leads on-site inspections by customers, entertains customers, and performs outside sales calls to develop leads.
*. Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations for prospective clients. Internally promote hotel’s programs. Meet with and entertain clients, some of which may require travel.
*. Attends trade shows/events and makes personal calls on customers which may involve travel within or outside the United States, dependent on assigned markets.
*. Responsible for tracking activity and bookings daily to meet and exceed activity and revenue goals.
*. Compiles and/or directs the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include, but not limited to the annual and monthly Forecast, Marketing Budget, Sales Pro, Booking Reports and Sales Meeting minutes.
*. Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies. Make reasonable recommendations to improve potential from various markets.
*. Organize and/or attend scheduled Sales Department and related meetings.
*. Represents the hotel and conducts conferences with individual corporate customers by telephone or in-person to solicit catering business. Meets with and entertains customers, conducts property tours, and promotes facilities and services. Responds to customer inquiries and negotiates contracts with customers and vendors.
*. Assumes responsibility for the successful set-up and execution of social and corporate meetings, meals and special events. Provides direction and supervision of meeting and/or catering logistics to affected departments and team members.
*. Develops customer menus, drafts contracts and letters, as well as organizes all other arrangements as they relate to social and corporate events.
*. Prepares and presents Catering forecasts and reports as required.
*. Audits customer checks and department charges and files to ensure accuracy.
*. Supervises staff in creation and distribution of accurate written materials.
*. Ensures that contracts, menus, letters and reports are completed according to hotel standards and policies.
*. Re-book functions and follow-up with customers by sending a thank you.
*. Compiles Food & Beverage reports on conventions.
